Nothing too earth shattering to report. My new banner is up though, and thanks again to [info]garbo_fairy for her brilliant talents, and to [info]lady_lisa_drew for the word inspiration.

Forgot to mention that Sunday was the one year anniversary of my dad's passing.

We all went out to the gravesite. My mom and I changed the flowers...getting rid of the Christmas ones, and replacing them with daisies and a few red roses.

I told my dad I loved him and missed him terribly.

And [info]amychamberlain...thanks ever so for the lovely card you sent. I heart getting fun mail.:)

I don't give a rat's ass about the Oscars.

Here's a pic that the ever lovely [info]stardustdarling shared with me. It's Bob at the premier of Grand Hotel. I wonder if he found the film as dull as I did ??

i think this is the first time ive ever been mentioned in anyones journal than my own ;) nothing more dapper than a madeup man in a tux :) why are there not more??? a sports coat just doesnt do it for me

why are there not more???

i ask myself that all the time! ;)

This is like my official 'go-to' journal for everything Bob, lol!

Ha ha, my comment precisely. :) Aaaaaah... Such lovely pictures you post.

I'm sorry, dear, about the unfortunate anniversary... I wish I had the proper words. :(

I'm glad you got the card tho and more glad you found it fun. Hope you are well.

Don't worry dear. I know.:)

I actually rather dug the cheesy retro artwork.;p And yes, I'm doing ok. Hope you are the same dahling.;)

That's the greatest compliment I could ever receive.:)

I wonder what Bob is writing in the book, lol!

BTW, sorry to hear about your sad anniversary, dear. :(

I imagine some snazzy poetry praising my feminine wiles.;)

Thank you for your thoughts dear. It's still hard to believe he's gone.;/

Aww, why did you find Grand Hotel dull. Sure, it's not the big epic type, ut it's enjoyable, and that KRingelein character is just off his c\rocker! Didn't you even enjoy the part where he asks Flemchen if she'd like to see his bathroom and Joan and John burst into laughter, and one of them snorts? I thought that was hysterical! It made them so much more human!

I did enjoy that part.:) And I love all the stars involved, it's just...the story didn't do much for me. I'm more a Dinner At Eight gal.

Someone sent me a picture file, but I can't get it to save to my photobucket. Do you think if I sent you the file, you could do it or tell me how ??? I want to "save picture as" but no such option appears when I try.

Oh, my gosh, your icon is so cute! That kid doesn't look to happy about reading. Lady: "Read or you will be an idiot just like your father!!" Sorry, I look too far into things. ^_^

You're welcome! Ooh, I used to love Curious George, too! I can't believe they made a new movie (cartoon) based on the books; I saw the preview on TV the other day. Bleh. :-/

you'll either laugh or frown...but george's caretaker....the man with the big yellow hat, always made me uneasy as a child.

(Deleted comment)
i'm not sure. maybe because he was a grown man hanging out with a monkey. and he always wore yellow. to my young mind, it just creeped me out alittle.;p

That's so sweet you went to his grave. I think I would do the same with my grandmother if she had chosen to be buried instead of cremated; it would give me some kind of nice comfort. :-)

I just appreciated "Grand Hotel" for the Garbo love scenes. I don't even like Barrymore that much but they were great together.

Does anyone really care about the Oscars anymore (well, other than stardom-hungry "starlets" and various other boring people)? I lost interest years ago.

Everyone here at work has been coming up to me, asking my opinion about the Oscars. When I tell them "I don't really care about those things anymore" they look visably shocked!!

I can't get motivated about modern movies anymore.

I like everyone in Grand Hotel....it's just the story bores me to tears.
